You leave Jackson in the mountains, and within fifty or so miles you're in the Wyoming high desert. Mostly barren except for sagebrush and occasional wildflowers. There are occasional small towns, but it's mostly rural and barren. After several hours we reached Rock Springs and I-80. Wow, a real interstate highway. how long since we've seen one of these? We traveled east to Rawlins and stayed at a campground with no grass. The pups simply had to make do (doo- doo?).

Up in the morning and back into Yellowstone, this time heading toward the south. There are more hydrothermal features as you get closer to Old Faithful, and the park continues to be fascinating. But let the photos speak for themselves. By mid-afternoon we decided that we had seen enough and headed for Jackson and the campground. Tomorrow, we'll get serious about heading for North Carolina, especially since Dorian has its eye on us. Moldpost xxxx.
